SLICE I/O Quick-Start Guide: SynqNet NetworkIn order to get a SynqNet network running with SLICE I/O, you will need to perform three major steps: Hardware InstallationThis tutorial assumes that you have already properly installed and configured a compatible SynqNet motion controller.
Wiring of SLICE I/O HardwareOnce you have a properly installed an MEI motion controller, you will need to properly wire the SynqNet Network Adapter (TSIO-1001) and the adjoining slices. The diagram below shows how to properly wire a SynqNet Network Adapter to the SynqNet Network.
Once you have properly wired the SynqNet Network Adapter(s), you will need to add the desired SLICE I/O modules onto the adapter. WARNING!!
Download SynqNet Slice-I/O Adapter FirmwareIMPORTANT! If you are using the SynqNet Network Adapter (TSIO-1001), FPGA version C0FE0032_0346.sff or newer must be installed on the node. The FPGA can be downloaded using Motion Console under the SqNode Summary window. The FPGA type and version can be found under the Info tab of the SqNode Summary window.
Node Addressing and Bit RateUnlike the CANopen Slice-I/O Adapter (TSIO-1002), you do not need to manually set the node addresses and bit rate, because they are automatically set. For more details about how the nodes are assigned an address, see Node, Cable, Motor, Drive Addressing. The bit rate for the SynqNet Slice-I/O Adapter is fixed at 100MHz.
