When the Download/Upload button is clicked, the Controller Address dialog box will appear. A controller address must be specified when uploading/downloading configuration to/from a controller.
Controller Type
There are three ways to address a controller:
Select the Default controller type to address the first controller installed on the host computer.
Select the Device controller type in order to select a controller card installed on the host computer other than the first controller. A device number must also be specified.
Select the Client controller type if the controller card resides inside a separate “client” computer (i.e., not in the same computer running meiConfigGui). The client computer and the host computer must be linked via a TCP/IP network. The client computer must be running the Server.exe utility. The following settings must also be specified:
Port
The socket connection to use for the client.
NOTE: In most cases this will be the same for the host and client(s), and the default value (3300) can be used.
Server
The IP address of the client computer serving the motion controller.
Flash Memory
Checking the Flash Memory checkbox will cause the configuration to be saved to controller non-volatile memory after loading it into controller RAM. The configuration for those objects with no representation in flash will be loaded only to RAM.
The Flash Memory checkbox is disabled when uploading configuration from the controller. Configuration cannot be uploaded from flash memory.
