Command Line Options

Using command line options, it is possible to have meiConfigGui open a list of files and/or upload configuration from a specified controller.

Command Line

MeiConfigGui [-control #] [-server address] [-port #]
             [-map mapFile] [-meiDir meiInstallDir]
             [-help]
             [fileList...]

The first set of options are used to specify a controller from which to upload configuration. If a controller is specified, then a new project will be created displaying the configuration for the controller.

-control

Controller number (default = 0).

-server

Name or IP address of the host running server.exe.

-port

TCP/IP port on the host computer for the controller to open on.

The next set of options are special instructions on where to find necessary components.

-map Specify which mapFile to use. The default is the first current version found in a directory specified in the PATH environment variable.
-meiDir The root MEI installation directory. The default is the environment variable MEI_INSTALL_DIR.

NOTE: If the MPI is installed correctly, then it should not be necessary to specify a mapFile or MEI installation directory.

The default map file is named xmp###.map where ### is the firmware version number for which meiConfigGui was built. It is installed into the XMP\bin\WinNT directory of your MEI installation path.

meiConfigGui will search for the map file in the directory from which meiConfigGui was executed, the current directory, the Windows system directory (system32), the Windows directory and the directories in the PATH environment variable.

The final option causes meiConfigGui to display usage information and then exits.

-help Print this usage information.

The remaining argument is a list of configuration files to open, each in a separate tab.

fileList List of config files to open with.
