Connecting to a Drive

To test a system locally, leave the check box next to the Server Name edit box unchecked. This is the default configuration. This feature is useful for testing a networked system. Anything entered in the Server Name edit box will be ignored.

Network System

To test a system over a network, you will need to identify which computer you are accessing. Check the box next to the Server Name edit box. The Server Name edit box will become enabled. The name that you enter will be used to identify the computer (host machine). Enter either the computer name (ex: scara, see below) or use the IP address (ex: 205.254.239.104, see below).

The default Server Port number of 3300 is correct for most systems, although you can change this setting, if necessary.

The Controller Number parameter indicates the number of the controller in the system that is being tested (ex: Controller Number 0). For all single controller configurations, the Controller Number = 0.
