SynqNet Discovery

The SynqNet Discovery Phase is the first step for network initialization. During SynqNet discovery, the controller locates and assigns an address to all nodes on the network. In order to accomplish this, all nodes on the network are reset and the network is transitioned to ASYNQ mode, where an asynchronous communication channel is used to communicate with the nodes.

Using this basic communication channel to the nodes, the following operations are then performed:

  • Set node addresses.
  • Measure cable length.
  • Read node identification information into controller memory.
  • Enable node repeaters.
