Software Installation

Installation Note: The Mechaware release is only compatible with the specific MPI release that contains the version matched firmware file. The appropriate MPI Library must be installed before installing MechaWare. Please see Installing the Motion Development Kit (MDK) for instructions on installing the MPI Library before installing MechaWare.

1. Install Kollmorgen's MechaWare Toolkit by double-clicking MechaWareSetup.exe.
   Click Next at the welcome screen.
   
   
   
   
   
2. In order to work properly, the MechWare files must be installed in the MPI Library's root directory. The MechaWare installaltion wizard will copy MechaWare utilities and firmware to the following directories:
   
   Utilities
   C:\MEI\MechaWare
   
   Firmware
   C:\MEI\XMP\Bin
   C:\MEI\XMP\Bin\WinNT
   
   The default installation directory is C:\MEI\. If this is not the root directory for the MPI Library, click Change and select the directory where the MPI Library is installed on the system.
   
   Once the installation directory has been verified, click Next.
   
   
   
   
3. Kollmorgen's MechaWare Toolkit is now ready to be installed. Click Install to proceed.
   
   
   
   
4. It will take a few minutes to copy all of the files and complete the installation.
   
   
   
   
5. When the installation has been complete, click Finish. Kollmorgen's MechaWare Toolkit has now been installed.
