eZMP Landing Page

Overview

The eZMP landing page displays an overview of the system's status and provides browser-based utilities for administering and troubleshooting the eZMP.

System Information

The System Information table displays general information about the eZMP such as its model name and model number; network connecting information including connection type, IP address, and MAC address; and operational information such as disk space, CPU voltage and CPU temperature.

Utilities

The Utilities sidebar (shown below) contains links to useful administrative tools that can be accessed directly within the browser.

Remote Desktop

The Remote Desktop link allows you to open a Windows session on the eZMP and have access to all the applications, files, and network resources from the eZMP desktop. For a step-by-step guide on opening a remote desktop session with the eZMP, please see Remote Desktop to the eZMP in the Quick Start Guide.

FTP Access

FTP Access provides direct access to the public FTP folder on the eZMP (C:\inetpub\ftproot) for quick file exchanges without the need for starting a remote desktop session. No username or password is required for FTP access.

Create Memory Dump

The Create Memory Dump utility is used for troubleshooting the eZMP system. This utility dynamically generates a ZIP file, memoryDump.zip, that can be downloaded for later review. memoryDump.zip contains version information about the motion controller and the MPI library returned from the MPI Version Utility, a memory dump of the controller memory returned from the MPI memoryDump Utility, and a list of all processes running on the eZMP using the Windows tasklist command-line utility.

Change Model Description

The Change Model Description utility allows you to change the description of the eZMP that is displayed in the Model Description field of the System Information table. The model description is also displayed in the Comments column in the My Network Places explorer window and as the Description field in the eZMP properties window. This is useful for easily identifying different eZMP controllers on the network.

The eZMP properties window can be viewed by opening My Network Places, right-clicking on the eZMP Motion Controller icon, and selecting Properties.

To change the model description for an eZMP, open the eZMP landing page and click the Change Model Description link. A text input box will appear below the link (circled below). Enter the new model description in the input box and click finish.

Below: eZMP Motion Controller properties window shows the user specified description of the eZMP in the Description field.
