BIOS Settings

The eZMP is shipped with default BIOS settings that require no changes for normal operation. These default BIOS settings are recommended and are provided below as a reference in the event you need to restore these settings from the orginal manufacturer's default configuration.

The recommended default settings are:

WARNING
These recommended BIOS settings are lost when the BIOS is restored to the manufacturer's default configuration!

The instructions below describe how to restore the BIOS to the default manufacturer's configuration which may be necessary if you have made changes to the BIOS and need to revert back to default settings or if the eZMP fails to boot up when running without a keyboard, such as for network connections with a LAN or crossover cable.

Restoring the BIOS to the Default Configuration

The first step to restoring the BIOS to its default configuration is to determine the version of the BIOS. To verify the BIOS version:

1. Start the eZMP and press F2 to enter setup.
2. From the INFO tab, select BIOS VERSION.
   
3. Verify the version number.

Once the BIOS version number is determined, proceed to the following procedure based on the determined BIOS version.

BIOS Version DME0A000

Perform the following steps to reset BIOS version DME0A000 to its default configuration:

1. Start the eZMP and press F2 to enter the BIOS menu.
2. From the Exit tab, choose Load Setup Defaults and select Yes.
3. From the Exit tab, choose Exit Saving Changes and select Yes.
   

BIOS Version MODBR127

Perform the following steps to reset BIOS version MODBR127 to its default configuration.

Note: if the follwing changes are not made, the eZMP will not boot up when used without a keyboard (headless mode).

1. Start the eZMP and press F2 to enter the BIOS menu.
2. From the Exit tab, select Load Setup Defaults and select Yes.
3. From the BIOS menu, select the Advanced > Miscellaneous.
   
4. Change the following parameters on the Miscellaneous menu if needed:
   
   
   • Halt On Errors – Set to NO.
   • PS/2 MOUSE – Set to DISABLED.
   • SPREAD SPECTRUM – Set to ENABLED.
   4. From the BIOS menu, select ADVANCED > DISPLAY CONTROL.
   5. Change the following parameters on the DISPLAY CONTROL menu if needed:
   • DISPLAY MODE – Set to CRT ONLY.
   6. From the BIOS menu, select ADVANCED > I/O DEVICE CONFIGURATION > SIO OPTIONS.
   7. Change the following parameters on the SIO OPTIONS menu if needed:
   • ONBOARD LPT – Set to DISABLED.
   8. From the BIOS menu, select ADVANCED > I/O DEVICE CONFIGURATION.
   9. Change the following parameters on the I/O DEVICE CONFIGURATION menu if needed:
   • AC97 AUDIO CONTROLLER – Set to DISABLED.

These settings allow the system to reboot after a power failure.

10. From the BIOS menu, select POWER > MISCELLANEOUS.
    
11. Change the following parameters on the MISCELLANEOUS menu if needed:
    
    
• POWER SUPPLY – Set to AT.
• POWER LOSS CONTROL – Set to POWER ON.
  
12. From the Exit tab, choose Exit Saving Changes and select Yes to save the BIOS changes and reboot.
