Broken Wire Fault Detection

Broken wire fault logic compares the differential inupt voltage (for example, A+ to A–) against expected values. If the amplitude is too low, a fault is reported. If the amplitude is sufficient, no fault occurs. However, between this range, a fault may or may not occur.

Broken wire fault logic can detect a connection problem (broken wire, broken connector, wire short), a disconnected cable, or an encoder power off.
