User Data Storage

Each block contains a 64-bit user area that can be used to store or retrieve special purpose bits or data. For example, a block may have several parameter changes. A user can save this frequently changed bit in this reserved 64-bit area.

Most MechaWare blocks have two user data fields (User Data 0, User Data 1) that can be used to store customer-specific data for convenient storage and retrieval. See screenshot below.

The table below lists the supported user data value types and valid syntax examples.

 
Type of User Data Value Description Example
Integer Numeric Data

The data will be converted to a 32-bit integer.

For Hexidecimal data the letter “x” must appear in the data.

Double Precision Numeric Data

The data will be converted to a 64-bit floating point value. The data must have a period or the letter “E.”

For Double Precision data, only User Data 0 is used. User Data 1 is ignored.

Alpha or Numeric Character Data The data will be converted to a 4-byte upper case character array. If more characters appear in the field, only the first four will be used. The character strings must not match the numeric formats. 1111 will be converted to a number, 111a will be converted to a character array.
