Checking Disk for Errors with WinXP Embedded

The XP embedded image Rev 1.2 (and higher) supports automatic chkdsk for C:\ drive (Compact Flash) at boot time. If there are any errors, chkdsk will automatically correct the corruptions and re-boot the eXMP-SynqNet. If there are errors, the chkdsk will typically require 10~30 seconds to correct them and log the results to C:\bootex.log.

TIP: If you suspect file integrity problems, check C:\ for a bootex.log. If there is no bootex.log, then XP did not find any disk errors. If there is a bootex.log, then errors were found. The log will contain the output from each instance of chkdsk's execution. If there are multiple entries in the bootex.log then the eXMP is not being properly shutdown.

You can manually check the disk integrity by right clicking on the C:\ and selecting Properties > Tools > Check Now...

 

Or you can run chkdsk from the command prompt:
